Bangalore, Nov 7: A bus driver in Bangalore died of heart attack on steering while driving the vehicle on Wednesday.
The deceased has been idnentified as Kiran Kumar(40), a driver of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
The incident took place around 11 am when the bus was enroute the Nelamangala- Dasanapura road.
Sources said, Kiran Kumar was driving the bus leaving for Dasanapura from Nelamangala dipot in the morning. Meanwhile, he collapsed in his seat on a crowded market. On being aware of the mishap the helper identified as Obalesh quickly jumped into the driver's seat to take control of the vehicle and halted it, ensuring the safety of all passengers. However, the bus tossed another bus mildly.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the driver first leaning in the front and collapsing on his left side after suffering a heart attack. As he lost control of the vehicle, it brushed past another BMTC bus.
Subsequently, Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
Following this, senior officials of the BMTC rushed to the spot and stood beside the bereaved family members.
