Bhubaneswar: Shah Rukh Khan seems ready to don the Baazigar and Darr role again. The superstar is reportedly in talks with Pushpa 2 The Rule director Sukumar for an upcoming film. The project will feature him in a “raw and rustic” avatar. Fans have to wait longer time as the film is unlikely to begin before 2027.
SRK IN SUKUMAR’S POLITICAL THRILLER?
As per a report in Mid-Day, SRK and Sukumar’s film will not be the psychological thriller fans expected. Instead, it will be a rural political action drama with a gripping narrative.
The report said, “King Khan will play an anti-hero, but this will be a rural political action drama that promises to show him in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar that blends his mass appeal with his global superstar image. It will also explore social issues like caste and class oppression.”
SRK has played anti-heroes before in Darr, Baazigar and Don. If this film goes as planned, it could be another powerful addition to his filmography.
WHY SHOOT AFTER 2027?
Even as SRK fans are excited about this collaboration, but the film is not happening anytime soon. Both SRK and Sukumar have packed schedules.
Sukumar is already working on RC17 (a romantic drama with Ram Charan) and Pushpa 3: The Rampage with Allu Arjun.
SRK also has a busy lineup. He is gearing up for King, where he will star alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. The film begins production in May with a start-to-finish schedule. He is also committed to Pathaan 2.
The news reports said it will take two years to complete the existing projects. It needs to be seen whether the project actually takes off or this is just a conception.
