Dhenkanal, Dec 2: In a tragic accident, as many as 10 students were injured after a truck hit the school bus on NH-55 near Korian Chhak in Dhenkanal.
Sources said, the bus, carrying around 40 students of a private School were on their way to school when the incident occured.
The injured students were immediately shifted to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment. Fortunately, all the students were safe and after receiving necessary care, the students were sent back to home with their parents.
The actual reason behind such incident is yet to be ascertained, however, it is suspected that the incident occurred due to thick fog. The bus driver confirmed that the slow speed helped lessen the damage.
Being informed the Police reached the spot, seized the heavy vehicle, and launched an investigation into the incident. The driver of the truck fled the scene immediately after the accident
