Balangir, Dec 2: In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Balangir district, a forest official died and two others became critical in elephant attack on Monday.
The incident took place near Bandhanpali village under the Dholamunda section under the Kantabanji forest Range.
As per reports, a forest department team was attempting to chase away an elephant which was straying near the village. Meanwhile, the pachyderm suddenly attacked three forest officials among whom one died on the spot.
Two others, including para-squad member Prashant Nayak and forest worker Tareshwar Rana, were critically injured in the attack.
The deceased has been identified as Rupesh Chhatria.
