Bhubaneswar: The curtains over Rohit Shetty’s cop-verse extravaganza lifted off. Singham Again’s four minutes fourtyfive seconds trailer, hailed as the longest ever in India’s cinematic history, seems rocking. The trailer tells all.
Singham is action packed. The movie is thrilled to the hilt show. But the plot of Singham Again sounds déjà vu. The plot draws its inspiration from the hoary Ramayana. The tale of the trailer reveals the plot to be Ram (Baji Rao Singham) - Ravana (Arjun Kapoor) – Sita (Kareena Kapoor).
The one liner by a composed Ajay Devgn sipping hot tea and delivering quite cooly saying, “Just Google the name of Baji Rao Singham and you will know what your Dad’s is capable of ...“ carries the punch with it. But the oneliner reveals the full plot of the film. The trailer doesn’t give any impression of any cinematic twist and turns in Singham Again.
Even as the plot seems a replay of Ramanand Sagar’s TV show Ramayana, the action packed scenes and the thrill quotient will keep one hooked on to their seats.
The trailer views touched a humungous 7mn in just six hours. The likes soared up to touch nearly 3.5 lakh.
AJAY DEVGN ROCKING BIG
The trailer begins with Ajay Devgn, who sporting black glasses, standing in a rock like posture with hands on waist, showcashing his ultimate supercop chest, taking a look at the ice clad mountains of Kashmir with a fleet of troop carriers behind, sporting the banner of J&K Police as if he is going out for a big operation.
The swag of Singham here is ecstatic. Ajay Devgn’s daredevily supercop style and punching dialogues are full of thrill quotient. The film seems made for 100 percent entertainment in festivals. As the makers planned it for Diwali release, the movies brings with it the Ramayana plot and big-bang action- say the Diwali Dhamaka.
SALMAN KHAN CAMEO
Salman Khan cameo is not there in the trailer. The trailer shows the entry of Akshay Kumar aboard a fighter coopter with guns blazing, drawing analogy from Ramayana’s Jatayu.
The trailer also shows off the sprinting reflexes of Tiger Shroff spitting fire.
But Salman Khan is nowhere to be seen. There seems a hint dropped by none other the Brahma of Cop Universe – Rohit Shetty. Shared a shot, he posted, “SINGHAM is incomplete without this HERO. ISS DIWALI Scorpio aayegi bhi, Ghumegi bhi, LEKIN ENTRY KISI AUR KI HOGI.”
The super revelation made by the cop-verse creator does take one to a scene in the trailer where a scorpio is seen. But all the elements narrated by Rohit Shetty missing. Many think it could be the entry of Salman Khan.
SINGHAM AGAIN BOX OFFICE
Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is a festival genre Masala entertainer. It has action, VFX, Ramayana et al. it is big stars, mega action movie. With the capacity of bollywod box office estimated at 90 cr, all eyes on how big moolah it rake off.
The star line up and the action wonder Singham Again shows the potential of grabbing the lions share in BO collections. It could easily mint around Rs 75 cr, but for the clash with Bhool Bhulaiya. Given the excitement measured by IMDb rating, where Singham Again is leading over Bhool Bhulaiya by 21 percent, Singham Again poised to collect nearly 65 cr on its opening day.
