Bhubaneswar: Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious project Kannappa release has been postponed. The makers have decided to push back the release to improve the film’s VFX. It was originally set to hit cinemas on April 25, but the new release date is yet to be announced.
Kannappa Postponed For VFX Improvement
Manchu took to social media to inform fans about the postponement. He explained that a crucial VFX-heavy scene needed more time to be perfected. He also thanked the audience for their patience and assured them that the wait would be worth it.
He mentioned that making Kannappa has been a special journey, and the team is committed to delivering a grand cinematic experience. To achieve the highest quality, they need a few extra weeks to refine a key sequence. Since the film is a tribute to Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee, they want to present it in the best way possible.
Manchu acknowledged the excitement surrounding the film and apologised for the delay. He expressed gratitude for the fans’ support and promised that an update on the new release date would be shared soon.

Kannappa also includes Prabhas,Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal in major roles. Mukesh Kumar Singh directs the film, with Mohan Babu, Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul, Madhu, Devraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, and Madhoo also featuring in the ensemble.
Akshay Kumar and Kajal Agarwal play the divine role of Shiva and Parbati.
The film is backed by 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, with music composed by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma. The team is working tirelessly, and fans can expect an update on the new release date soon.
