Anita Swain of AASA gets 'ADAMYA SAHAS' Puraskar

Bhubaneswar: On the concluding day of the 31st National Adventure Festival held at Chandigarh on 10th February, Odisha’s  ace mountaineer Anita Swain and a member of AASA (Association of Adventure and Social Activities) was honored with 'ADAMYA SAHAS'  puraskar in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of mountaineering and adventure activities.

The function was attended by Mahabir Singh, chief commissioner, Chandigarh right to service commission as Chief Guest, S C Chaudhry Former Chief Secretary, Haryana government and President N.A.C (India) as a Guest of honor and other dignitaries.

Anita climbed the highest peak of Europe, Mt Elbrus , Moscow on 23.07.2024. She also scaled Mt Kilimanjaro, highest peak of Africa on 13.07.23, and twin peaks of Mt.DIO JONGO and KANG YATSE ll ,Ladhak between 11 August 2023 and 26 August 2023.

She was awarded with a cash prize of ₹31,000 and silver plaque. Lt. Gen (Ret) Narayan Mohanty, President of AASA, Adviser Ashok Mohanty secretary, Secretary Everester Ganesh Chandra Jena, Siba Sankar Panda (Joint secretary), Bikram Keshari Das (Treasurer), Shakti Ranjan Mohanty (Vice President), Chinmaye Moharana and other members have congratulated her for the success. 

It may be mentioned that 14 (7 boys and 7 girls) from AASA successfully participated in the festival.  Sibdut Buxi of AASA was judged the best performer and was awarded with the trophy and certificate.
