Paris ( France), February 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the AI Action Summit in Paris, emphasized the need for global collaboration to establish a transparent, unbiased, and open-source framework for artificial intelligence (AI). Co-chairing the summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, Modi highlighted AI's impact on politics, economy, security, and society, and proposed India as the host for the next AI Action Summit.

Modi stressed the importance of global efforts in AI governance, focused on shared values, risk management, and fostering innovation. He called for democratizing technology, addressing cybersecurity concerns, and developing quality, unbiased data sets. AI, he said, should be rooted in local ecosystems for effective use.

Modi also noted AI's potential in simplifying complex tasks, such as explaining medical reports in layman's terms, but pointed out existing biases in AI due to skewed data. He emphasized the need for inclusive AI development, especially for the Global South, where access to technology and resources is limited.

AI, Modi argued, could transform sectors like health, education, and agriculture, accelerating progress toward sustainable development goals. He reassured that, although AI might change the nature of work, it would not lead to job losses but rather create new opportunities.

India, a leader in AI adoption and data privacy solutions, is ready to share its experiences for the global good, Modi concluded, urging a more inclusive approach to the Global Partnership for AI.

India will host the next summit, continuing the global push for responsible and inclusive AI development.
