Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: The Odisha government on Saturday lifted the ban on recruitment of home guards in the state.
The Chief Minister Office issued order in this connection today.
According to the Home Department officials, the stalemate on filling up the vacancies of home guards across the state was withdrawn following the direction of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today.
With the development, appointment of home guards in the state will be resumed after a long time, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
Worth mentioning, as many as 2,369 posts of Home Guards are lying vacant due to the ban imposed by the government while watch & vigil in the rural pockets and urban areas has been affected in many ways.
