Barpali, Jan 31: The Barpali police arrested 12 persons, including 10 students, in connection with a question paper leak at Barpali College in Odisha's Bargarh district.
The accused were presented in court on Thursday and have been remanded to judicial custody.
Of those arrested was Alok Sahu, a clerk from Naktideul Degree College in Sambalpur, along with students from Vikas Degree College and Barpali College.
Sources said, the leak involved the Political Science question paper for the third-semester exam. The paper was allegedly photocopied at a Xerox shop before being distributed.
The matter came to light during an inspection, following which Barpali College Principal Jayanti Dash to file a formal complaint with the Barpali police.
Following an investigation, it was revealed that the leaked question paper had originated from Naktideul Degree College in Sambalpur.
The police arrested the students who had purchased the paper, as well as the individual responsible for selling it.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
