Varanasi, Jan 31: A boat carrying 60 passengers capsized in the Ganga River near Man Mandir Ghat in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi.
As per reports, the incident took place after a large boat collided with a smaller one. Reports said that passengers on board were pilgrims from Odisha.
Upon getting the information, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and water police officials arrived at the site and launched a rescue operation.
Officials said that all passengers have been rescued as they were wearing life jackets.
More details in this regard are awaited as authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
