Addressing a joint session of Parliament during the 2025 Budget session, President Murmu highlighted India’s increasing influence in multilateral forums such as the G7 Summit, QUAD, BRICS, SCO, and G20.

"In a time of global instability, India is emerging as a beacon of economic, social, and political stability, setting an example for the world," President Murmu said. She noted that India’s presence in major international platforms like the G7, QUAD, BRICS, SCO, and G20 reflects the global confidence in India’s leadership.

"Today, India asserts its interests confidently on these global stages. The successful hosting of the G20 Summit and the Delhi Declaration are clear examples of this," she added.

The President also pointed out that at forums like the Third Global South Summit, the India-ASEAN Summit, and the India-CARICOM Summit, India has strongly voiced issues important to the Global South. Furthermore, India presented its "Vision for the Future" at the Summit of the Future.

In her address, President Murmu also touched on the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event held in Bhubaneswar earlier this month, underlining the government's commitment to the welfare and convenience of the Indian diaspora. "Earlier this month, my government organized the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar. The welfare and convenience of our diaspora remain a priority, which is why we are opening six new embassies and four new consulates," she said.

The President also highlighted India’s global humanitarian efforts, stating that the country has extended immediate aid to disaster-stricken areas worldwide. "Strengthening India’s image as a 'Vishwa Bandhu,' we have extended aid to many disaster-hit regions," she noted.

On the sustainability front, President Murmu emphasized the government’s commitment to a green future and green jobs. "My government is making decisions with an eye on both the present and future generations. We are steering the nation towards a green future," she said.

She elaborated on significant initiatives, including the target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar systems are being installed with a budget of ₹75,000 crore, and over 750,000 homes have already adopted solar power, generating numerous jobs. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, with an investment of ₹8 lakh crore, is expected to create over 600,000 jobs.

In addition, President Murmu highlighted the acceleration of nuclear energy expansion and the introduction of the Vehicle Scrapping Policy, which aims to ensure the scientific disposal of old vehicles while generating new employment opportunities.

President Murmu concluded her address by reaffirming the people's commitment to making India a developed nation. "This resolution is inspired by the sacrifices of our martyrs, the ideals of revered Bapu, and the oath of unity taken by leaders like Sardar Patel," she said. She called upon all citizens to unite and work towards fulfilling the vision of a "Viksit Bharat."
