Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: Madhusudan Padhi took charge as the State Election Commissioner at the Election Commission's office in Bhubaneswar today.
The outgoing State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi handed over his responsibilities to Padhi making him the eight election commissioner of the State.
In a formal ceremony, he expressed his dedication to ensuring the smooth execution of the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, along with other key events in the State's democratic process.
Aditya Prasad Padhi's term ended in August 2024, and the position had remained unfilled since then.
