Bhubaneswar Nov 14: A 45-year-old woman, who was undergoing treatment falling from a moving two-wheeler after miscreants tried to snatch her gold chain, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, police said.
The incident happened on Monday under Airfield police station limits when the deceased, U Bishnu Patra, a resident of Bhubaneswar and her husband were travelling to Harirajpur's Somanath Temple from Bhubaneswar, police said.
Two bike-borne unidentified miscreants chased the couple and tried to snatch the gold chain from Bishnu, but failed.
The miscreants further chased them and tried to snatch the chain when the victim lost her balance and fell down from the moving bike.
She was rescued by the locals and admitted to a private hospital here with grievous head injury. Her health condition deteriorated day by day and she died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
Airfield police has launched an investigation into the matter registering a case against the unidentified chain snatchers.
