Bhubaneswar, March 18: Amid speculation over alliance between the ruling BJD and BJP in Odisha, state BJP unit has shortlisted candidates for 147 assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats. These probable candidate's name have been sent to the party’s high command in New Delhi for further consideration.
Also on March 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced the list of candidates for 18 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha.
The central parliamentary committee of the BJP will finalize the selection of candidates after due deliberations.
The state BJP core committee and state election committee recently held an important meeting to discuss poll preparation for the upcoming elections. Party leaders, including State Party President Manmohan Samal, Election In-Charge Bijaypal Singh Tomar, Co-in charge Lata Ushendi and Senior leaders of the party were present in these meetings and discussed about poll preparation for the ensuing election.
Bijaypal Singh Tomar said that the BJP’s state unit has thoroughly planned its poll strategy. They have chalked out plans for managing the election process during the upcoming polls. The party will soon announce the names of candidates who will contest elections for BJP.
Balasore BJP MP Pratap Sarangi expressed confidence that the party is fully prepared to fight the election and secure victory.
Sambalpur BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra claimed that the BJP will form the government in Odisha this time.
