Devotees throng Brahmagiri's Alarnath temple as Trinity in Sriksheta falls sick

Brahmagiri, June 15: Devotees have started making a beeline for the famous Alarnath temple at Brahmagiri, 23 km away from Puri, as Trinity have fallen sick after the grand bathing ritual on the occasion of Debasnana Purnima yesterday. Yesterday on the occasion of Snana Purnima, the Trinity - Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra - was given a ceremonial bath following which the siblings fell sick and are under the care of the Raja Vaidya (physician) for 15 days as per the traditions and rituals. The temple administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth darshan. The devotees made a beeline to the temple since early morning. Besides the darshan of Alarnath, incarnation of Lord Vishnu, distribution of the ‘kheer offering, which is prepared with buffalo milk and blended with other ingredients, and cooked ‘prasad’ at the temple, attracts scores of pilgrims.
