Ayodhya, UP, October 30: Ayodhya's Deepotsav-2024 set two Guinness World Records on Wednesday evening, creating a mesmerizing spectacle along the Saryu River with over 25 lakh oil lamps.
Organized by the Ayodhya district administration and Uttar Pradesh’s Department of Tourism, the event achieved the largest display of oil lamps, with 2,512,585 diyas, and the most people performing a 'diya' rotation simultaneously.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the Guinness certificates, joined by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. The grand celebration featured a laser and light show at Saryu Ghat, retelling the Ram Leela and illuminating Ayodhya with thousands of diyas.
This year's Deepotsav, the first after the 'Pran Pratistha' of Ram Lala at the Ayodhya temple, included 18 vibrant tableaux depicting significant events from Lord Ram's life. The five-day festival, marking Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile, emphasized Ayodhya's spiritual and cultural heritage, drawing millions of devotees and tourists to the city.
