Bhubaneswar, February 5: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police will launch a special enforcement drive starting February 10 to address the use of black films, sirens, and multi-toned horns on vehicles. Strict penalties will be imposed on offenders as per the law.
As per police guidelines, vehicle windows must permit at least 70% of visible light through the front and rear windows, and 50% through the side windows. Car owners who fail to comply with this regulation will face penalties.
Suresh Dev Datta Singh, the Commissioner of Police, urged car owners and drivers to adhere to the legal requirements. He stated, "Despite the legal prohibition, many motorists continue to use tinted glass, black films, multi-toned horns, and musical horns, creating safety hazards, confusion, and contributing to road accidents."
He further advised, "To avoid penalties, we strongly recommend that vehicle owners voluntarily remove these items, including tinted glass or black films and multi-toned horns, before February 10, 2025."
