Balangir, Oct 6: Police have arrested a fake doctor who was allegedly running a helath clinic in the Balangir district on Sunday.
Acting on the complaints of local patients, a quack identified as Palasa Biswas who hails from West Bengal was picked from his clinic and remanded to judicial custody following verification of documents.
According to the complaints, Biswas was illegally operating a private clinic in Sindhekela under Bangomunda Block limit where he was recklessly treating patients with no valid medical degree or certificates as a medical practitioner.
Following this, teams from the Titlagarh and Balangir police conducted a surprise raid in the clinic and took Biswas to custody following seizeure of some medicines and medical equipment.
