New Delhi, Aug 1: Gold prices jumped Rs 550 to Rs 72,500 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday following higher domestic demand and positive global trends.
Gold rose for the third day in a row, recovering from sharp losses after the government announced reduction of customs duty on gold and silver.
In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 71,950 per 10 grams.
Silver prices also jumped Rs 600 to Rs 86,200 per kg from Rs 85,600 per kg in the previous session.
According to reports, gold of 99.5 per cent purity also bounced by Rs 550 to Rs 72,150 per 10 grams from the previous close of Rs 71,600 per 10 grams.
