Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: Jungle safari in Nandankanan zoo reopened on Monday. Two vehicles carrying visitors entered into the tiger safari, lion safari, and the herbivorous safari today. The jungle safari was closed down due to Covid-19 pandemic. The visitors enjoyed the ambiance of animals in their natural habitat in the morning. Visitors along with guides roamed inside the tiger safari, lion safari, and the safari containing the deer, reindeer, bisons, barking deer, spotted deer, sambars, four horned antelope, wild boar, jungle fowls, peafowl in a natural environment. However, the elephant safari has not been reoped for the visitors so far due to the fewer number of elephants. Elephants safari will be functional shortly after a herd of elephants is brought from Kailash, said Nandankanan Director Sanjit Kumar.
