Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: The Odisha government is going to construct a second bridge over river Bramhani at Patrapur on Cuttack - Chandabali Road, parallel to the existing bridge.
The proposal of the Water Resources Department was approved by the Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday.
The second bridge over the Brahmani will reportedly ease the traffic congestion on State Highway 9A connecting Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Bhitarakanika National Park.
The State Cabinet has approved the final negotiated offer of lowest Turnkey bidder M/s Ram Kumar Contractor Pvt Ltd amounting to Rs 228,99,00,000 for execution of the project work which is targeted to be completed within three years.
Apart from this, the Odisha Cabinet has also approved second bridge over the Kharasrota River connecting Aul & Chandbali.
The Odisha government has also decided for construction of H.L. Bridge over Mahanadi at Pujaripalli Ghat connecting to Jarimuli.
The proposed new bridge over Mahanadi will provide interlink connection between old NH-200 (now NH-49) and Chhattisgarh, Jharsuguda with Chandhikhol via Talcher and Kamakshyanagar.
