Excessive hair loss can be a worrying problem that often causes anxiety and affects self-esteem, especially in women. However, if diagnosed properly, you can control hair loss with some natural and effective home remedies to save your hairs. Causes: 1. Lack of nutrition Your diet may lack essential nutrients such as iron, copper, zinc, and protein. Vitamin D deficiency is another cause of hair loss. To avoid this, be sure to go out and bask in the sun. 2. Hormone imbalance After the age of 30 years, hormonal imbalance can occur in women, which can lead to hair loss. This is usually caused by excessive conversion of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Although estrogen is the main hormone made by women, testosterone and other androgens such as DHEA are also found in women's bodies. When women reach a certain age, they can start converting these androgens to DHT. 3. Thyroid problems When the thyroid gland at the back of the neck makes too much or too little thyroid hormone, the hair growth cycle can change. However, if you have a thyroid problem, you will notice symptoms other than hair loss, such as weight gain or loss, sensitivity to cold or heat, and changes in heart rate. 4. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have a hormonal imbalance that results in higher than normal androgen levels. This often causes hair to grow on the face and body while the hair on the head thins. PCOS can also cause ovulation problems, acne, and weight gain. 5. Birth control pills Birth control pills can cause hair loss. Hormones in pills that suppress ovulation can cause hair thinning, especially in women with a family history of hair loss. Sometimes hair loss can occur when you stop taking the pill. Other medications associated with hair loss include blood thinners and medications used to treat high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, and depression. 6.
