Mumbai/ Ranchi , November 7: Mumbai Police have launched an investigation following a serious threat directed at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The probe, conducted in collaboration with the Cyber Police Station, has extended to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where the origin of the threat call was traced. With an FIR filed at Bandra Police Station, a police team was dispatched to Raipur to further the investigation. However, Chhattisgarh Police have yet to issue an official statement.
The incident has intensified public interest, partly due to the close friendship between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, who has also been the target of multiple recent threats. On Tuesday, another threat was reportedly made against Salman Khan, allegedly from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, demanding either an apology or a substantial sum to ensure his safety.
Salman Khan has faced an escalating series of threats over the past two years, including demands of up to Rs 5 crore. Recently, an anonymous message to the Mumbai Traffic Control Room demanded Rs 2 crore from the actor, adding to the climate of concern surrounding his security. Authorities have made numerous arrests in connection with these threats, including the apprehension of a 24-year-old vegetable vendor, Shaikh Hussain Mohsin, in Jamshedpur, who reportedly demanded ransom from Salman in Bishnoi’s name.
The cases against both actors have sparked significant public and media interest, amplifying the urgency for law enforcement to bring these threats to a resolution.
