Angul, Jan 27: A BJP worker sustained grievous injuries after some miscreants allegedly attacked him sharp-edged weapons in broad daylight at Amalapada Chhak under Angul Town police limits in Odisha today.
The victim has been identified as Parthasarathi Pradhan.
As per reports, Pradhan was returning home from a gym when five to six bike-borne miscreants intercepted him and attacked with sharp-edged weapons. Thereafter, they fled from the scene.
He sustained grievous injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical treatment.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and launched a probe into the matter.
Though the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be known, it is being suspected that it might be fallout of political rivalry.
The cops are examining the CCTV footage to identify and nab the attackers.
