Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the gathering on the occasion of Constitution Day, calling it a "sacred day" for all Indians, emphasizing that the Constitution is a guiding force for the nation’s democracy and governance.

The Department of Sports and Youth Services also organized a series of events in connection with Constitution Day. A floral tribute was paid at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution at AG Square. The event was attended by the state's Minister of Sports & Youth Services, Surjyabanshi Suraj, who highlighted the importance of spreading constitutional values across the state.

As part of the celebrations, a march was organized from AG Square to Capital Hospital, aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of the Constitution and its fundamental principles. This march emphasized the promotion of constitutional values and the need to educate citizens about their rights and duties under the Constitution.

The Constitution Day is being observed every year on November 26 to honor the adoption of India's Constitution. On this day in 1949, India formally accepted the Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. To promote awareness of the Constitution’s significance, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment declared November 26 as Constitution Day in 2015.
