Hyderabad, Nov 26: A team from the Andhra Pradesh Police reached the residence of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma in Hyderabad after he failed to appear for questioning in a case related to posting derogatory content on social media about Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his family members.
Despite receiving multiple notices from the police to appear for questioning, Varma did not comply. The police visited his home to investigate the matter, but were unable to meet him directly. As a result, they began searching his residence, with reports suggesting that an arrest could be imminent.
This case began after Varma posted disrespectful comments about Naidu, Deputy CM, and Minister Lokesh during the release of his film "Bhayoham." The police had been seeking his cooperation for questioning ever since.
On November 11, following a complaint from TDP leader Ramlingam, the police began an investigation. Varma had earlier requested four days to present himself, but after the deadline passed, he still failed to appear before the authorities.
