Bhubaneswar, March 18: While the entire state was mourning the demise of former Union Minister Dr. Debendra Pradhan the Odisha Governor paid tribute to the ace politician & people's leader on Tuesday.
Visiting late Dr. Pradhan’s residence at the Lumbini Vihar in Chandrasekharpur in the morning with his spouse, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati condoled the bereaved family members and urged them to withstand the adverse situation.
Meanwhile, the Governor recalled Dr. Pradhan’s glorious past and his own acquaintance with the leader during Bharat Uday Yatra.
Elaborating Dr. Pradhan as a staunch supporter of nationalism, the Governor said, “Dr. Pradhan was a man dedicated throughtout his life to one ideology and worked for the causes of people.”
“I met him for the first time in the year 1991-92 when he was the president of the Odisha state BJP when Lal Krishna Advani took out one Yatra and Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi took out another Yatra.We accompanied them until the Andhra border and we handed over the yatra to Dr. Debendra Pradhan. I remember I had met him while he was Union Minister of state for agriculture during Atal Bihari Bajpayee’s government. I think he is a staunch supporter of nationlalism and throughout his life he thought to teach his ideology what he believes and he stood for the people and fought for the people”, the Governor added.
