Konark, Nov 6: A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of two persons on Gop road under Konark police limits in Puri district. The incident occurred late on Tuesday night at around 1am.
The victims have been identified as Pradeep Behera (25) from Bhubaneswar and Bishwajit Sahu (27) from Cuttack.
According to reports, a car (registration number OD 02 B 5363) was speeding towards Konark when it lost control over the wheel, crashing into a tree killing duo on spot; however the driver of the vehicle had a close shave with serious injuries. The vehicle has been completely damaged following the collision. Locals rushed to the rescue of the injured driver Tapas Sahu and alerted the cops and fire personnel.
Being informed, the fire brigade and police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
