Khordha, Mar 19: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries after a car collided head-on with a passenger bus on National Highway 57 (NH-57) near Pichukuli Adarsha Vidyalaya in Odisha’s Khordha district today.
The identities of the deceased people have not been ascertained yet.
According to eyewitnesses, the mishap took place when a speeding Maruti Suzuki car collided head-on with a passenger bus travelling from Visakhapatnam to Bhubaneswar.
The collision was so intense that the car was completely wrecked. As a result, a man and a woman were trapped inside the car leading to their death on the spot.
Meanwhile, the passenger bus veered off the road after the collision, leaving two passengers with minor injuries.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the bodies of the deceased people. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem. The injured persons were rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
