Bhubaneswar, Mar 29: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Saturday arrested four former secretaries of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) for loan fraud amounting to over Rs 64 Lakh.
According to reports, Former secretary of Katarbaga PACS Bhubaneswar Sahu, former secretary of Talab PACS Bhagaban Patel and former secretaries of Kansingha PACS Chhabila Behera and Kantilal Bhoi have been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for embezzling public funds totaling Rs 64,13, 730 in their respective PACS.
The accused allegedly abused their power, manipulated accounts, and made unauthorized withdrawals related to collected loan repayment amounts and sale proceeds of fertiliser. Withdrawals beyond the limits from the savings bank deposits accounts of members.
All four arrested officials will be forwarded to Court later in the day,
