Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: In a bid to treasure Odisha’s Pride in the Rashtrapati Bhawan Premises, as many as four replicas of the Konark Wheel, made of sandstone, have been installed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The ancient craftsmanship related to the Odisha’s glorious history and culture, have been showcased in the Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan on the campus of Rashtrapati Bhawan.
“The installation of Konark wheels aims to showcase and promote the country’s rich heritage among visitors.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to incorporate traditional cultural and historical elements from across the nation into the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Worth mentioning, the Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built in 1250 CE from stone in the form of a giant chariot carrying sun God whereas the Konark Wheels were representing meaningful Hindu mythology engraving pictures of Gods and Goddesses on them.
