Readymade shop in Jatani catches fire: Shopkeeper dies

Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: In a tragic incident, a shopkeeper was reportedly charred to death in Jatani after his shop caught fire on Friday.

The incident took place at the Raja Bazaar in Jatani in the afternoon.

The deceased businessman has been identified as Surya Mohapatra.

Sources said, a fire broke out at a readymade garment shop at Raja Bazaar all of a sudden. Following this, the shop-owner tried to douse the fire on his own efforts and later informed to the fire brigades. However,he sustained critical burn injuries. 

Fire Services personnel on being informed, rushed to the spot and rescued the owner and initiated a dousing operation. Meanwhile, the victim who complained of breathlessness ,was rushed to Bhubaneswar for treatment who succumbed to burn injuries said sources.
