New Delhi, February 16: A passenger arriving from Bangkok was apprehended at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi for allegedly smuggling a high-value diamond-studded gold necklace, the customs department reported on Sunday.
Customs officials intercepted the individual upon his arrival on February 12. A thorough examination of his baggage and a personal search led to the discovery of a gold necklace embedded with diamonds, weighing 40 grams and valued at ₹6.08 crore.
The customs department shared details of the seizure on X, confirming the passenger’s arrest and further legal proceedings.
