Bhubaneswar: Sabitri Behera has brought pride to Odisha by securing 3rd place in the women 50kg category at the two-day long 22nd Senior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2024-25, which concluded at Amity University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
In a highly competitive field, Pratima Bonde from Maharashtra clinched the gold medal with a best lift of 80kg, while Gomathi from Tamil Nadu secured the silver medal with a best lift of 60kg. Sabitri Behera from Odisha earned the bronze medal with a best lift of 40kg, showcasing her resilience and strength against top contenders.
A total of four players from Odisha participated in the championship, including one woman and three men, reflecting the growing presence of Odisha’s para-athletes on the national stage.
