Bhubaneswar, April 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning predicting light to moderate thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph, in several districts of Odisha.
According to the IMD bulletin released at 6:05 PM on Tuesday, the districts likely to be affected over the next three hours include Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Deogarh, Koraput, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.
A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been sounded for these regions, and residents have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The IMD has also advised people to avoid open areas and seek shelter to stay safe from potential lightning strikes.
