Mumbai, Jul 18: In a tragic incident, a well-known travel influencer who also works as a chartered accountant with global IT/technology consulting firm Deloitte, Aanvi Kamdar died after slipping into a 300-foot deep gorge while attempting to make an Instagram Reel in Maharashtra's Raigad district.
As per reports, Aanvi, who has nearly 2,69,000 followers on Instagram, was on an outing with seven friends at the Kumbhe waterfall in Mangao area of the district on July 16. While making a reel of the scenic surroundings, she slipped headlong into the gorge.
After being alerted by her friends, police along with fire service personnel arrived at the spot and launched a rescue operation. A team of 56 rescuers worked to retrieve her body, which was initially difficult to spot. Thereafter, she was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Aanvi, a resident of Mumbai's Mulund area, was renowned for creating content on monsoon tourism, particularly in the Maharashtra region. On Instagram, she described herself as a "travel detective."
In her final Instagram post, Kamdar shared a video listing monsoon travel destinations in India, including Udaipur, Bekal (Kerala), Delhi, Agra, and various locations in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
