Mumbai, Dec 29: Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, who was recently seen in Baby John, shared his thoughts on the emotional toll of heartbreak, describing it as a challenging phase for any man.
In a recent appearance on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Varun discussed how men often struggle to cope with heartbreak and how society overlooks their emotional turmoil.
He remarked, "When a man's heart breaks, society doesn’t think much about what happens to him. He goes through a really tough time. You have to keep working and doing a lot of things." Varun went on to explain the pressure men face to hide their emotions, saying, "You can't show it to anyone. You're shattered inside, but you have to keep a brave face. People expect you to be strong, and as a man, you’re not supposed to cry."
Varun also spoke about the need for change in the Hindi film industry, noting that Bollywood is currently dominated by perspectives that are focused primarily on Mumbai. While it’s easy to be influenced by Mumbai, the entertainment capital of India, Varun believes that the industry needs voices from all corners of the country to enrich storytelling.
In The Ranveer Show, he expressed, "Some voices need to come from places beyond Mumbai, from tier 2 and tier 3 cities. These voices are necessary for deeper, more inclusive storytelling." He emphasized that Bollywood should embrace diverse viewpoints to reflect a broader spectrum of Indian culture.
Varun also stressed the importance of those in positions of power within the industry recognizing the need for change. "If they can’t adapt, they should be willing to step aside and allow new voices to elevate the industry," he concluded.
