Veteran Kathak dancer Aditi Mangaldas bags Mahari Award 2022

Bhubaneswar: Noted Kathak dancer, researcher and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas has been selected for the prestigious Mahari Award 2022. Aditi will receive the award during the three day dance festival 28th Guru Pankaj Utsav, scheduled to be held at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar from on March 15 to 17. The award, instituted by Adi Guru of Odissi dance late Pankaj Charan Das, carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a memento and citation. Aditi, a highly acclaimed exponent of Kathak dance, has been performing in many prestigious venues in India and abroad for the past 2 decade. She learned Kathak under the guidance of Kumudini Lakhia and Pandit Birju Maharaj. She has won several awards including National Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Gujarat Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Gandhi Priyadarshini Award. Besides Aditi, Kathak exponent Gauri Diwakar from New Delhi, Kuchupudi dancer Rekha Satish from Bangalore and Odissi dancers from different places of the country will perform during the 3-day festival.
