Bhubaneswar, April 10: At least 12,000 new appointments in Odisha Police soon soon, in order to have a robust policing in the state.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed it after his dicussion with the Union Home Minister in this connection.
Interacting with the pressers after his Delhi visit, Majhi said that steps are on to fill around 12,000 vacant posts in the state police to enhance efficiency of the state forces.
The recruitment drive aims at enhancing the law enforcement capacity in the state, he said.
Earlier, Majhi attended a meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister in the North Block. The discussion centred around maintaining law and order issues, with an emphasis on new appointments in the Odisha Police.
The new recruitments of cops will help implementing the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) successfully across the state, Majhi added.
The state government is making sincere efforts to address staff scarcities soon. It will help better traffic management, crackdown on LWE activities and cybercrimes, the CM added.
