Gujurat, February 2: In a tragic incident, at least five persons were killed and scores got critical after a private bus carrying pilgrims fell into a deep gorge in Gujarat on Sunday.
The tragic mishap took place near Saputara hill station in Dang district of Gujarat in the wee hours while almost all the passengers were fast asleep.
Police sources said, the bus was passing the Saputara hill station with more thatn 50 passengers. Meanwhile, the operator lost control over the vehicle which veered into the deep gorge.
As a result, at least five persons including two women and three men succumbed to injuries on the spot and ove 17 sustained fatal injuries.
Injured ones were rushed to a civil hospital at Ahwa for treatment.
Police sources ascertained that the pilgrims were from Guna, Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar districts of Madhya Pradesh. They were travelling from Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra to Dwarka in Gujarat for holy tours.
