Bhubaneswar: The final match between Commissionerate Police Team-A and Rourkela Police District team ended in a goalless draw, the Commissionerate team emerged champion by 5-4 goals via through penalty shootout in the 79th State Police Football Championship was held in Cuttack from November 1 to November 10, 2024.
The matches took place at the 6th Battalion, CRRI, Ravenshaw and Khan Nagar football ground. A total of 43 police teams from across the State participated in this highly competitive event.
The winning team was led by Constable-Hrusikesh Behera of Cuttack UPD as captain and guided by their coach, Havildar Maheswara Gouda of BBSR UPD.
Following their victory, the Commissionerate Team-A met with the Commissioner of Police, Dr. S. Dev Datta Singh, Addl.Commissioner of Police Dr.Umasankar Dash and DCP, Bhubaneswar UPD, Pinak Mishra. They all congratulated the team, applauding their dedication and encouraging them to continue their spirit of sportsmanship.
