Bhubaneswar, July 1: The millet based food products produced by Odisha Mission Shakti groups have created a market place on e-commerce platforms with people increasingly opting to consume healthy food.
The state government has facilitated marketing of millet based food products by women entrepreneurs and SHGs on e-commerce platforms.
Millet based food products prepared by SHGs are available on the DailyMoo app of Odisha based dairy products brand Milk Mantra. Milk Mantra and Mission Shakti SHGs have signed a pact in this regard. Millet flour, various types of millet biscuits/cookies/mixtures/snacks and chhatua prepared by Radharani women SHG of Bhubaneswar and Dibyajyoti SHG of Rourkela are available on the DailyMoo app since March this year.
The two SHGs have registered over Rs 3 lakh turnover during the last three months, according to department sources.
Radharani women SHG secretary Debajani Das said we are trying to reach millet and millet based food products at people from all walks of life. Efforts are on to made more variety of millet foods on e-commerce platforms.
Dibyajyoti SHG secretary Prema Das said women of her group are now making 14 types of millet based biscuits for online platform.
Besides, Odisha produced millet flour is also available on international e-commerce platform Amazon.
