New Delhi, April 12: India’s semiconductor end-demand revenues are set to double between 2025 and 2030, growing from USD 54 billion to USD 108 billion, according to a new report by financial services firm UBS.

The report projects a strong 15% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the sector during this period, outpacing global growth due to India’s favorable demographics, rising demand for electronics, increased enterprise use of advanced semiconductors, and supportive government policies.

In addition to overall market growth, UBS estimates that localization opportunities in the semiconductor space could contribute around USD 13 billion in revenue by 2030.

Despite this growth, India currently represents a small share of the global semiconductor ecosystem—only 0.1% of global wafer capacity, about 1% of annual equipment spending, and 6.5% of global semiconductor end-demand.

UBS noted that global tech companies are reassessing their supply chains due to tariff uncertainties, with some already adopting a “China plus one” strategy—shifting parts of their final assembly operations outside of China. India is emerging as a key destination in this transition.

India’s strength lies in its robust software and services talent pool. In semiconductors specifically, about 20% of the world’s chip designers are based in India, working for multinational companies.

While the U.S. and China remain the top end-markets, India’s growing share—forecasted at 6.5% with USD 54 billion in 2025—positions it as a significant player in the global semiconductor landscape.
