Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: In a significant move for fire personnel, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the house rent and various allowances for the fire personnel of Odisha Fire Services (OFS).

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) shared the news on its official X handle, detailing the decision to boost the allowances for the fire fighters working with OFS.
The post stated, “Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi’s decisive initiative to enhance the social security of fire fighters. To support those who provide prompt services in critical situations, their house rent and allowances have been increased. This will benefit 6,058 fire fighters.”
This development will greatly benefit the 6,058 personnel serving in Odisha Fire Services. The following allowances, aimed at enhancing the welfare and social security of the fire fighters, have been increased:
Diet allowance: Raised from Rs 900 to Rs 1400
Motorcycle allowance: Increased from Rs 300 to Rs 1050
Mobility allowance: Hiked from Rs 150 to Rs 300
Risk allowance: Raised from Rs 400 to Rs 1000
