Odisha Olympic Association announces cash award for Tokyo Olympics winners

Bhubaneswar, July 18: The Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) has announced cash award for the medal winners in Tokyo Olympics. The Olympics will begin on July 23. As per the announcement, the OOA will present cash award of Rs 5 lakh for gold medal while the silver medal and bronze medal winners will get cash of Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively. Earlier Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also announced Rs 6 crore for gold, Rs 4 crore for silver and 2.5 crore for bronze medal winners from Odisha. Besides, the CM had also announced Rs 15 lakh for each participant from Odisha. The six sportspersons from Odisha who will be a part of the Olympics are Dutee Chand (Individual 100m and 200m dash), Deep Grace Ekka, Namita Toppo (Women’s Hockey), Birendra Lakra, Amit Rohidas (Men’s Hockey) and Pramod Bhagat (Paralympics).
