Odisha: One killed, six critical as bus overturns inside coal mine operated by NTPC

Sundargarh, Apr 28: In a tragic accident late Sunday night, one person was killed and over six others sustained critical injuries after a bus overturned inside the Dulanga coal mine operated by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in Odisha's Sundargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Nityananda Pradhan from Pudapali and the mishap took place within the Hemgir block of the district.

According to reports, the bus was transporting over 30 operators during a shift change when it overturned inside the mine. The injured persons were rushed to a hospital in Brajrajnagar for medical treatment.

In the aftermath of the accident, coal mine workers have halted operations in protest, citing inadequate safety measures at the workplace.
