Khallikote, Apr 13: In a tragic incident, over 30 passengers sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in rammed into a truck on National Highway-16 in Khallikote locality of Odisha’s Ganjam district today morning.
As per reports, the mishap took place on National Highway-16 near Langaleswar when the bus named Balunkeswar was coming from Bhubaneswar. The driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control over the wheels and crashed into a truck from behind, severely damaging its front portion.
Following the mishap, the driver, conductor, and helper of the truck fled from the scene.
Some locals rescued the seriously injured passengers and rushed them to Khallikote hospital.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.
Passengers who sustained minor injuries were provided with primary treatment and then transported to their destination in a special bus.
