Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: A spiritual journey turned into a distressing ordeal for the family after an Odia woman went missing at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.
The woman has been identified as Damayanti Padhi, hailing from Tinidesa village under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district.
As per reports, she had gone to the holy gathering with her family to take a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam. However, she mysteriously disappeared on January 29 amidst the sea of devotees. Her family searched for her frantically, but she was nowhere to be found.
With no clue about her whereabouts, her family members filed a complaint at a local police station in Prayagraj.
The Nilagiri police in Odisha have also been informed, and an investigation is currently underway.
The woman’s family has now urged the Odisha government to step in and assist in locating her.
