Cuttack, March 13: Orissa High Court on Thursday halted the recruitment of 1800 constables for the India Reserve Battalion (IRB),that was scheduled to be held on 17th March.
Hearing the pleas of some overage candidates, the recruitment came to a halt for the time being. The next hearing on the case is scheduled on March 20.
A prior directive from the High Court's Single Bench had ensured that the overage candidates would be provided an opportunity in the recruitment.
The examinations were conducted for these 'over age' candidates in compliance with the Orissa High Court’s directions. However, the results of these exams were not published before the exam, which was to commence after three days.
